XIV MCP

Caches

What XIV MCP remembers between visits, how fresh it is, and which files it keeps.

The game only sends some data in certain places: your retainers at a summoning bell, your submersibles in the workshop. XIV MCP takes a snapshot there and keeps it per character in pluginConfigs/XivMcp/. You see the caches in /xivmcp → Info → Caches.

CacheRefreshed when
submersiblesThe voyage control panel data is loaded in the FC workshop
retainersThe game has the data: the retainer list at a bell, and each retainer's inventory when it is selected (also by plugins such as AutoRetainer)
glamourThe glamour dresser or a glamour plate is opened (the armoire is read live)
progressAchievements and titles: the game has the lists loaded
storageSaddlebag and FC chest: they are loaded
jobsBackground jobs, live

How fresh is it?

Every cached result carries a cache block, so your assistant knows how old the data is:

FieldMeaning
capturedAtWhen the snapshot was taken
ageHow long ago that was
liveWhether the data was read live just now
staleWhether it is old enough to refresh
suggestionHow to refresh it, such as "open a retainer at a summoning bell"

get_cache_status lists every cache. wait_for_cache_refresh waits up to 10 minutes for you to refresh one, for example by visiting a bell. refresh_retainer_inventories opens every retainer once at a bell next to you.
