XIV MCP

Privacy

What your assistant sees, what goes online, and what stays on your PC.

XIV MCP itself sends nothing anywhere: it has no account, no telemetry and no server of its own. Data leaves your PC in two ways, and you control both.

What your AI app sees

Every tool result goes to your AI app, and from there to its AI model, together with your messages. Unless you use a model on your own PC (see LM Studio), the model runs in the cloud of the company behind the app, under that company's privacy terms.

What is in those results depends on what you allow:

ModuleWhat your assistant can see
Game dataYour character's name, world, jobs, gear, inventory, currencies, quests and collections, and the names of players in your party and around you
Items & retainersYour retainers, their inventories and ventures, the FC chest
Market & purchasesYour listings and sale history
Game & navigationYour other characters, their worlds and service accounts, and game windows and menus on screen
Plugin managementOther plugins' settings, which can contain passwords or keys. Denied by default.
ScreenScreenshots, which can show chat, tells and other players' names. Every screenshot asks you first.

To keep something from your assistant, set its module's Reading to Deny, or switch the module off. See Modules and permissions.

What goes online

Only the Online lookups module contacts websites, and it is denied by default:

WebsiteWhat it is asked
universalis.appMarket prices for the items and the world or data center your assistant asks about
FFXIV Teamcraft (raw.githubusercontent.com)Item source data, downloaded once and kept in pluginConfigs/XivMcp/teamcraft/
ffxiv.consolegameswiki.comAn item's wiki page, when your assistant asks for it
FFX|V Fish Tracker (raw.githubusercontent.com)Fish data, downloaded once a day and kept in pluginConfigs/XivMcp/fishing/
FFXIV Teamcraft (gubal.ffxivteamcraft.com)Bite times of the fish at a fishing spot with a bait

None of these requests contain your character's name or your access token.

What stays on your PC

The caches, the audit log, your settings and the access token are kept in Dalamud's pluginConfigs folder (XivMcp.json and the XivMcp folder next to it) and are never sent anywhere by XIV MCP. When you report a bug, leave out your access token, and check logs and screenshots for names before you post them.
